Herb Schwartzkopf has been a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars for 47 years and is a Gold Legacy Life member.

He has previously served in many offices, including Post Commander, Post Quartermaster, District Commander, State Surgeon and State Commander.

Herb earned his eligibility through service in the US Navy in Vietnam from 1970 to 1972. He was the 69th recipient of the Triple Crown Award for Commanders and the first and only in Kansas. He was just honored with being the recipient of the Triple Crown for Quartermasters and the first and only in Kansas.   He is also the third comrade worldwide to receive both Commander and Quartermaster Triple Crown Honors.
